Photography is about storytelling. Republic of Humanity has told and shared hundreds of stories. We have received countless requests from followers to consider publishing the stories they create. So, we have created a new program called Citizens Day. Any follower or “citizen” of Republic of Humanity may now submit their stories (photo and written story) for consideration for posting on Republic of Humanity’s Citizen’s Day.[/cs_text][x_gap size=”40px”][cs_text id=”” class=”” style=”” text_align=”justify-text”]

GUIDELINES:
Participants/Citizens of the Republic of humanity are invited to share a story about family, a friend or acquaintance, or someone you just met. Often, some of the best stories are of people we just met. Stories are often in the next room, in the neighborhood or sometimes on the other side of the world. Look deeply everywhere.
The essential element of a Citizen’s Day story is its ability to connect to people/draw your audience into the life of your subject. Your job as the story teller is to get people to care about your subject, even if it’s just for a fleeting moment.
The visual content format is photography only.
Visuals Approach. RoH is known for its deeply human and penetrating images. Some suggested visual guidelines for images are:
Stories. One of the main characteristics of RoH are its short, anecdotal, and universal stories. Stories open a window for Citizens to share their take on the “aha” moments that show people have more in common than not. Stories should be short (try to keep them under thirty words. Stories need to include a story title, first name of subject (you may use a fictitious name if you or the subject desires), one (or more) descriptive words on what they do (student, factory worker, home-maker, taxi driver).[/cs_text][x_gap size=”40px”][cs_text id=”” class=”” style=”” text_align=”justify-text”]
WINNER SELECTION:
All eligible entries (photography posts) received during the submission period will gathered into a database on an ongoing weekly basis during the submission period. RoH will curate and select the story to be showcased on a weekly basis from Thursday to Tuesday. Winner’s story will be showcased starting on October 11, 2017.
Submission period October 11, 2017 until October 12, 2018, on a weekly basis on both Facebook and Instagram.
RoH will reserve the right to choose the content to be showcased.
All participants that use the hashtag #CitizensDay agree with the terms of this contest and are responsible and accountable for:
The first winner’s story will be showcased starting on October 11, 2017 every Wednesday thereafter.
Participants will be contacted via Direct Message on Facebook/Instagram with instructions and other information, and will be requested to provide a valid email address. Each entrant is responsible for monitoring both his/her Direct Message application and e-mail account for notification, receipt or other communication related with “Citizen’s Day”. RoH shall have no liability for winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for incorrect information provided. If a potential winner cannot be reached by RoH within seven (7) days, using the contact information provided, the potential winner shall forfeit the recognition.
Per Instagram and Facebook rules, we must mention that this initiative is in no way sponsored, administered, or associated with Instagram and/or Facebook. By entering, entrants confirm they are 13+ years of age, release Instagram and Facebook of responsibility, and agree to Instagram’s and Facebook’s terms of use.

PRIZE:
The selected citizens/participant in addition to be showcased on RoH’s digital platforms, will receive a digital copy of David Taggart’s book “Clicking with People”. Prize will be e-mailed.
